You really love the macro world don't you ? Its a different world,
very exciting. Being an artist good composition seems to be in your blood. Please stick to the same camera until it stops working, the newer ones and the SLRs don't offer a good macro.
If you have photoshop or any graphic software or the one that came with the camera, you can darken the pictures a bit to get more saturation.
